This was a dream come true. Looking out from the alter and seeing 50 of the people who mean the most to us making memories that will last my children long after I’m gone.

When you are facing a serious illness or life-altering health circumstance, often times the last thing you are typically thinking about is planning a wedding or celebration of the love you share with your partner. We understand this and want to help.

We welcome any application that is in support of our mission to help those facing serious illness or life-altering health circumstances. We do not consider financial hardships or job loss alone a life-altering health circumstance. Please understand that we do ask for a doctor’s verification as part of our application process. This helps us ensure that we are able to continue to help couples who are impacted by severe health-related issues.

Typically, the requested wedding date must be within six months of your application. However, we can also grant urgent wishes as well, should the health circumstance warrant.

The application process is easy:

  1. Submit an application (family friends cannot apply on your behalf but your partner, caretaker, or hospice worker can).

  2. We encourage you to read the basic requirements for wish recipients prior to submitting your application.

A member of our team will reach out to you to let you know what the next steps are. If you are selected as a finalist, you will be asked to have your doctor submit a verification form (which we will send to their practice directly). You may want to consider giving your doctor a head’s up at your next visit that this may be coming in the next 1-2 weeks from Wish Upon a Wedding, in order to help speed up the application process.

Not all applications will be approved. Wish Upon a Wedding reserves the right to deny or cancel a Wish at any time. Wish Recipients must comprehend, agree to and comply with the terms of all applications and contracts they sign throughout the Wish granting process.
