On October 8, 2019, Gilbert and Kiletta gathered before their nearest and dearest at The Modern in Long Beach, CA to exchanged vows and join their lives in marriage.

This special couple’s story first began in 2015 when they met online. Although she was skeptical at first, Kiletta soon fell for Gilbert’s humor and persistence in pursuing her. The couple began dating and fell in love.

Three years into their relationship, Gilbert started getting sick. He had been struggling with stomach pains and decided to get checked out. He underwent a colonoscopy and a body scan which revealed a devastating diagnosis – colon cancer that had spread to his liver.

Gilbert began an aggressive chemotherapy treatment plan and is trying his best to remain positive and hopeful despite the painful side effects of his disease. Wish Upon a Wedding was so touched by Gilbert and Kiletta’s story and was thrilled to grant their wish for a wedding.

We enlisted the help of our new friend Alesha of De La Planning and were humbled by the incredible team she assembled and hard work she put into all of the special details. In addition to the stunning and highly sought-after venue, Gilbert and Kiletta were treated to a breathtaking photo shoot at the Pacific Air Center, delicious cuisine, over-the-top florals, a specialty LA Raiders Cake, a gourmet coffee station, live event painter, fun photobooth, homemade hand pie favors and so much more!
