A Magical Indy Wish

On December 20th, 2019, Vanessa and Chris gathered before family and close friends to recommit their lives to one another at the breathtaking Indianapolis Arts Garden. While the couple had originally intended to renew their vows on their 10th anniversary, their lives took a drastic turn this past year, forcing them to move up the date.

Vanessa and Chris first met 10 years ago by sheer happenstance when Vanessa tagged along with a friend who wanted to meet up with a that she had met online. Turns out, the man had a roommate named Chris, who Vanessa immediately fell for.

The two started dating and were married at a courthouse one year later. Soon after, they were blessed with a baby girl.

In the fall of 2018, Vanessa began to experience some confusing health problems. She was working as a medical assistant at the time and suddenly began struggling with things like balance, tripping, slurring of speech and loss of dexterity in her fingers. After several disappointing visits with a neurologist, Vanessa and her family became very nervous that something was seriously wrong.  The answer came this past summer and was more devastating than she or Chris could have ever imagined. She had been diagnosed with ALS.

In spite of her heartbreaking disease, Vanessa has tried to remain positive and upbeat and to cherish each moment she has with Chris and their daughter. To meet Vanessa and to hear her story is to witness true courage. We were touched and overwhelmed by this beautiful couple and couldn’t wait to throw them the vow renewal of their dreams. We teamed up with our longtime friend, Monica Richard, of Mon Amie Events, and were blown away by the magical day she created.

From the airy, brilliant space, to the delicious brunch, spectacular cake, touching music, and romantic tablescapes, Vanessa and Chris were treated to a fairy tale celebration. As usual, our wish granters went above and beyond to shower our couple with unique and personal touches, including an amazing live event painter who perfectly captured the look and feel of the day.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to these incredible wish granters!
