A Tribute to Lucy
On April 28, 2022, Lucy and Jason gathered with family and sweet friends to renew their vows and to honor their beautiful love story.
Lucy and Jason first met in 2013. Lucy had been working at an allergy office while pursuing a graduate degree and Jason was a patient of the office. Despite several attempts to ask her out, she politely declined, because of his relationship with her work. Not long after she stopped working at the office, she got a random knock on her door. It was Jason. He had tracked her down and wanted to take her to lunch. The two went out that day and the rest is history. They were married not long after and soon started a family.
Lucy’s cancer journey began when her sister was diagnosed with breast cancer. Because of the nature of her sister’s illness, Lucy decided to get tested for the BRCA gene. Her test came back positive and she entered a surveillance program to be monitored and to undergo a prophylactic mastectomy.
It was during this time that Lucy found a nodule in her armpit. She got the testing that she needed and was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. She underwent a double mastectomy and aggressive chemotherapy. This past October, the cancer spread to her bones and lungs. Sadly, Lucy lost her battle with cancer this past week.
It was an honor to meet this beautiful family and to grant their wish for a vow renewal. We were blessed to connect with Lisa Dahlberg of Event Sisters and were touched by the unforgettable day that she created for our sweet couple. Despite a quick and unexpected rainstorm, Lucy and Jason enjoyed a gorgeous day full family, friendship, laughs and love.
