A Utah Love Story

On November 28, 2020, Danette and Mike will join with family and friends to renew their vows after 14 years of marriage and to celebrate an unwavering love story in the face of a tremendous storm.

Danette and Mike first met at work in 2006. They were both attracted to each other but couldn’t date because Mike was Danette’s boss. He decided to switch jobs so that they could be together. They were married in 2008 and merged their families, which now consists of 5 kids in their twenties.

In August of 2021, Mike discovered a lump on the side of his neck. He was referred to a specialist but as the months went on, the tumor grew and began to affect his swallowing. He was diagnosed with stage 2 squamous cell cancer of the throat. He underwent intense chemotherapy and radiation, which, although unbelievably difficult, initially shrunk his tumors. Sadly, his cancer metastasized to his lungs. The last couple of months have been devastatingly hard and this beautiful couple is desperate for a joyful day filled with fun.

As Mike’s health has continued to decline, we made the decision to move this wish up and have pulled together a remarkable team to help with the celebration.

We are overwhelmed with the incredible generosity of these people and their willingness to share their talents and resources with our sweet couple.
