a Salem, OR love story

On October 27, 2022, Shawna and Eric will gather with loved ones to renew their vows after twenty years of marriage.

Shawna and Eric first met at bar in 2000. Shawna was looking for a place to sit and ended up grabbing a seat at a booth with Eric and his buddy. They started chatting and Eric decided to buy her a drink and ask her to dance, something that was way out of his comfort zone. She gave him her number at the end of the evening and was surprised when he called the next day. The couple went out a week later and have been together ever since. They were married in 2001 and went on to have two beautiful daughters.

In 2021, Shawna discovered a lump in her breast. She went in for a mammogram, ultrasound, and biopsy. A week later she was diagnosed with stage 2 B breast cancer. She underwent a lumpectomy, followed by radiation. Months later, she went back in for blood work and a PET scan. She was devasted to learn to learn that her cancer had metastasized to her bones. She underwent a surgery to have her ovaries removed and is currently receiving chemotherapy and hormone suppressors.

We loved meeting this easy going, outdoorsy couple and cannot wait to grant their wish for a vow renewal. We found a new friend in Emili Kopiec of Elegant Outcomes, LLC and are so excited to watch the day unfold.

We’re so thankful for the accomplished team of wish granters that Emili assembled and are blown away by their incredible generosity.
